There's so much to do in Saltburn by the Sea for all the family, couples, walkers and older people. Saltburn is very accommodating for dogs and provides a lot of amenities for our 4-legged friends, including a dog friendly beach. Here are a few places myself and my family like to visit....it is by no means exhaustive. We include more details, such as children-friendly activities and locations within our Welcome Folder. o Whitby – Seaside town with a sandy beach. Award winning fish and chips at the Magpie Restaurant. Gothic history, setting for Dracula

o Staithes – picturesque seaside village with winding streets and higgledy-piggledy cottages

o Runswick Bay – Sweeping, sheltered bay with charming red roofed cottages

o Guisborough Forest – perfect for walks or bike rides. Includes a Gruffalo Trail

o Five Houses – Yarm Farm Shop that sells organic, homemade meat and vegetable pies and pork pies. There is a gorgeous café where they serve their own produce

o Yarm – Lovely market town with boutique shops and lovely walks

o Northallerton – Market town with unique shops, such as, Lewis and Cooper, Barkers, Fat Face

o Brymor Ice Cream parlour – fun day out for the family, you get to see the cows and follow the process. Next to Jervaulx Abbey, which is also well worth a visit

o Suggetts Ice Cream – well-known ice cream shop nearby

o Richmond – Gorgeous market town with a picturesque river that runs through and castle. Great place to visit for the day
